Marib Governor and member of the Presidential Leadership Council, Major General Sultan al-Arada, on Saturday, September 7, 2024, emphasized the need for vigilance and unity in confronting subversive and terrorist plots. He called for a united front against forces seeking to destabilize the province and undermine social peace.
During a large tribal gathering attended by tribal leaders and dignitaries from Wadi Abidah, including the Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Army, General Saghir bin Aziz, al-Arada urged the community to stand alongside the military and security forces. He stressed the importance of protecting public and private property, deterring those who threaten national security and vital infrastructure, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.
Al-Arada highlighted the "collaboration between Houthi terrorist militias and subversive and terrorist elements to undermine security and stability, target infrastructure, and vital economic facilities belonging to the Yemeni people."
He stressed the need for social cohesion, unity, and resilience in the face of challenges, emphasizing the importance of maintaining national security and stability, and safeguarding achievements.
Al-Arada addressed the ongoing threat in the region, stating, "We are facing an enemy who has not ended, who will not be deterred by ceasefires or agreements, and who seeks to eradicate everything in this country."
He added, according to the Marib 360 platform, "We will defend this land, and we will fight both near and far to preserve it, acknowledging the sacrifices made by the people of Marib and other regions of Yemen."
The official news agency reported that the member of the Presidential Leadership Council received a tribal document signed by prominent tribal leaders and dignitaries from Wadi Abidah, reaffirming their unwavering support for the state in protecting facilities and pursuing wanted individuals, while rejecting subversive elements.
Chief of Staff General Saghir bin Aziz praised the tribes' support for the armed forces in the national battle to restore the republic and state institutions, acknowledging their ongoing sacrifices. He stated, "The armed forces and security will fulfill their constitutional and legal duties to pursue and track down outlaws, enhance security and stability, and protect vital facilities in the governorate, which has become a haven for Yemenis and a model for the presence of the state, order, and law."
Tribal leaders and dignitaries from Wadi Abidah reiterated their unwavering commitment to supporting the army and security forces, standing united against the Houthi group, internationally designated as a terrorist organization. They renewed their support for all measures taken by the armed forces and security to protect facilities and the interests of the people.
