A tragic bus accident in the "Al-Saha Karba" pass, connecting the cities of Taiz and Aden, has claimed the lives of 16 passengers, including three women and two children. Two others, including a child, were injured in the incident.
Medical sources in the city of Al-Tubah, south of Taiz governorate, reported to "Barran Press" the accident on Sunday, September 8th, 2024. The bus, a "Hiace" model, overturned in the middle of the Al-Saha obstacle in the Shamaitin district. The vehicle plunged down a steep incline for approximately 300 meters, resulting in the deaths of 16 passengers.
Sources described the incident as a tragedy, stating that the deceased passengers died before reaching Khalifa General Hospital in Al-Turbah. Hospital staff provided treatment to the two injured individuals, a child, and a young man.
The accident occurred on the alternative route of "Hayjat Al-Abd," known as the "Al-Saha Karba Al-Maqatera" road, which connects the governorates of Taiz, Lahj, and Aden. This route is heavily congested and is currently under reconstruction, making it dangerous for travelers.
