On September 9, 2024, Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Alimi met with the UAE Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Hamad Al Zaabi, to discuss necessary support for improving living conditions in Yemen, according to the Yemeni news agency Saba.
The meeting addressed national developments, bilateral relations between the two countries, and promising avenues for enhancement across various sectors. They also explored ways to bolster economic and service reforms in Yemen.
Alimi praised the UAE's "active role" within the coalition supporting legitimacy in Yemen, highlighting its economic, humanitarian, and developmental interventions aimed at alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and fulfilling their aspirations for state restoration, stability, development, and peace.
On September 5, Al Zaabi reaffirmed his country's continued support for the consensus resulting from the April 2022 transfer of power in Yemen, referring to the Presidential Leadership Council and its affiliated components.
This statement came during his meeting with the Head of the Consultation and Reconciliation Commission, Mohammed Al-Ghaithi, and the Commission's Deputy Chairman, Abdulmalik Al-Mikhlafi, where he reiterated the UAE's commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council in restoring state authority and achieving lasting stability and peace.
