Yemeni Minister of Information Moammar Al-Eryani issued a stern warning about the alarming increase in cancer cases in regions under Houthi control. He criticized the group for maintaining a silence on the escalating health crisis and for stifling voices that raise concerns about the dangers of toxic substances flooding the country.

According to Al-Eryani, the Houthis bear full responsibility for this catastrophe, citing their ongoing trade in expired and internationally banned pesticides. He alleged that Houthi leaders, in collaboration with businessmen from Saada, are profiting from these hazardous substances.

Al-Eryani further accused the Houthis of misappropriating billions in revenue generated from the Cancer Patients Support Fund, which comes from taxes on telecommunications, cigarette, and cement companies. He claimed these funds have been diverted to support the war effort, finance terrorist activities, and enrich corrupt health sector mafias, depriving cancer patients of essential services.

He also highlighted that the Houthi militia has been hijacking free medications provided by international organizations for cancer patients and has been involved in the smuggling of counterfeit and expired drugs through companies owned by its leaders. This, he said, amounts to mass murder of cancer patients in areas forcibly under Houthi control.

Al-Eryani condemned these actions as indicative of a rogue group that engages in various crimes and violations, systematically targeting Yemenis since their coup against the state. He called on the international community, the United Nations, and organizations like the World Health Organization to fulfill their legal, humanitarian, and ethical responsibilities in addressing the cancer epidemic.

He urged for decisive measures to halt the Houthi's trafficking of deadly toxins, which endanger the lives of millions of Yemenis, and called for the immediate classification of the group as a "global terrorist organization."
