Local sources in Taiz province reported on September 10, 2024, that two students were killed and 14 others injured following a violent explosion at a nearby military camp in the Al-Janad area of the Taizzyah district.
According to sources speaking to "Barran Press," the explosion at the camp, controlled by Houthi forces, caused panic among the students of Aisha School, prompting a stampede as they rushed to escape the chaos. Tragically, this rush resulted in the deaths of two students and injuries to 14, with many in critical condition.
The injured were transported to hospitals in the Al-Hawban area, amid a heavy presence of Houthi militants who cordoned off the area, preventing any photography and restricting access for families seeking information about their daughters' well-being.
In a contrasting narrative, Houthi-affiliated media attributed the explosion to what they claimed was an airstrike by American and British forces targeting the Taizzyah district. They reported that the alleged airstrike resulted in casualties among the students of Aisha School but did not mention the military camp itself.
