Three civilians were killed and injured on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, when an explosive device planted by the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by the international community, detonated in the Serwah district of Marib governorate in northeastern Yemen.

Local sources told "Barran Press" that the IED, planted by the Houthis in western Serwah, claimed the lives of Ayed Saleh Mabkhout Rabi' al-Jahami and Ali Saleh Mohammed Hamoud al-Zaidi al-Jahami. Majib al-Jamidar Rabi' al-Jahami was injured in the blast.

The sources explained that the victims discovered the IED in Wadi Nu' in Serwah. It was disguised as a foreign object, and they were unable to identify it. When they attempted to move it, it exploded, killing two and injuring the third.

On September 5, a landmine planted by the Houthis killed a civilian, Abdullah Nasser Hussein, in the "Al-Dhiq" area of Serwah. The district has witnessed numerous similar incidents due to the presence of landmines and IEDs planted by the Houthi group, which has controlled the area since mid-2015.
