Tariq Saleh, a member of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council and leader of the National Resistance, stated on Saturday, September 14, 2024, that the Prophet's Birthday in Yemen serves as a call to triumph over sectarian and racist instigators, referring to the Houthi group, internationally designated as a terrorist organization.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Saleh, as observed by "Barran Press," asserted that those he termed "instigators of sectarianism and racism" aim to drown the Yemeni people in the falsehoods of priesthood and ignorance, serving a political agenda that barters with God's religion for a small price.

He highlighted that the Prophet's Birthday, celebrated on the 12th of Rabi' al-Awwal, represents a call to overcome sectarian and racist strife.

Saleh emphasized that the anniversary of the Prophet's birth renews the values of truth, freedom, and equality that the Prophet of Islam brought. He concluded his post with the prayer "O Allah, bless Muhammad, and every year, may you be closer to him and those who exploit him be further away."

The Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by the international community, has transformed the Prophet's Birthday, a cherished religious occasion for Yemenis and other Islamic and Arab nations, into a season for collecting taxes, amassing wealth, and spreading sectarianism and sectarianism.

Since seizing control of the capital Sana'a and staging a coup against the state in 2014, the group has continued to collect hundreds of millions of riyals in the name of celebrating the Prophet's Birthday, which includes sectarian calls and mobilization. They have also forced citizens, merchants, vendors, and public and private institutions to display illuminated and cloth banners, paint the walls and facades of their buildings green, and impose exorbitant forced levies to fund their extravagant celebrations. This occurs while they withhold salaries and plunder revenues.
