The Industry and Trade Prosecution Office in the temporarily declared capital of Aden announced on Sunday, September 15th, 2024, the destruction of 56,361 expired medicine boxes deemed unfit for human use due to improper transportation and storage in dry metal containers.
The destruction process, as reported by the official Saba news agency, was overseen by "Sumaya Al-Qubati," the Deputy Prosecutor of Industry and Trade in the internationally recognized government, along with a committee comprising the Ministry of Industry and Trade, its branch in Aden, the legal affairs director of the Free Zone, and Free Zone security personnel.
The destroyed medicines included two types: 3,961 packs of "Coopermol" and 52,400 units of "Copscon."
Al-Qubati urged all traders to adhere to standards for transporting, storing, and ensuring the quality of medicines, emphasizing the importance of a sense of responsibility towards the health and safety of consumers.
"There will be no tolerance for those who violate regulations and laws and disregard the health and safety of citizens," she added.
