On Friday, September 20th, 2024, the city of Marib in northeastern Yemen witnessed a large-scale protest in solidarity with the Palestinian people and denouncing the ongoing genocide in Gaza, now approaching its first anniversary.
Following Friday prayers, participants chanted slogans condemning the Israeli occupation's brutal war against Palestinians. A statement released by the organizers and obtained by Bran Press, condemned the Israeli army's act of throwing the bodies of Palestinian martyrs from rooftops, desecrating their remains. This heinous crime, the statement declared, must be condemned by all nations and international organizations, demanding accountability for the continuous crimes of the occupying entity.
The statement also lauded the resilience and successes of the Palestinian resistance. It highlighted the Israeli military's boasting about the detonation of pager devices in Lebanon as a testament to the Palestinian resistance's ability to secure their weaponry and maintain their effectiveness throughout the year-long conflict. Despite the involvement of major international intelligence agencies, the Israeli forces have failed to breach Palestinian security.
The statement, seen by Barran Press, further argued that the Israeli cyber-attack in Lebanon was a desperate attempt to distract international attention from the real battle in Gaza and create a false sense of victory for the Israeli public, despite the impossibility of achieving their stated goals.
The rally urged the Palestinian resistance to remain vigilant and diversify their tactics to counter potential scenarios orchestrated by the occupying entity. The statement expressed disappointment with what it termed as "marginal roles" played by some under the guise of supporting Gaza, which it claimed create confusion and provide the occupying entity with opportunities to fabricate side battles, diverting attention from their brutal crimes in Gaza.
The statement welcomed the UN resolution demanding the end of the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, highlighting it as a reflection of the international community's support for the Palestinian people and their rightful claims. The vote, it said, exposes the isolation of the Israeli leadership and its Nazi-like government. The statement commended the countries that voted in favor of the resolution and urged them to take further steps to isolate the fascist entity and pressure it to end its crimes.
The statement condemned the ongoing Israeli massacres in Gaza and their continuous attacks in the West Bank, reiterating the call for the International Court of Justice and the international community to assume their responsibilities in stopping the genocide, ethnic cleansing, and brutal massacres against the Palestinian people. The statement also urged Palestinians in the West Bank to escalate their confrontation and resist the occupation as part of the "Al-Aqsa Flood" campaign, in parallel with the heroic battles waged by the resistance in Gaza.
The statement condemned the brutal scenes of the Israeli army throwing the bodies of martyrs from rooftops, desecrating their remains. This heinous crime, the statement declared, must be condemned by all nations and international organizations, demanding accountability for the continuous crimes of the occupying entity.
The statement called on the Arab and Islamic worlds to provide genuine support, both officially and at the grassroots level, acknowledging the commendable positions of those who stand with the Palestinian people and support their right to freedom, return, and independence. The statement urged the Yemeni people, who have stood in solidarity with the Palestinians for decades, to continue providing support through all available means and mechanisms until the occupation is defeated and an independent Palestinian state is established, God willing. The statement warned against being drawn into side battles aimed at obscuring the essence of the Palestinian cause, as desired by the extremist right-wing policies within the entity. This, it warned, could lead to disastrous consequences on all levels and across all tracks.
For the tenth consecutive month, Marib has witnessed solidarity events with the Palestinian people, who are facing a brutal and destructive war by the Israeli occupation, with unprecedented American and Western support.
Hundreds of citizens from all walks of life, social and political components, civil society organizations, university students, and students of scientific institutes participate in these protest rallies.
