Houthi Shelling Triggers Displacement Wave in Al-Musaimeer

Local sources reported that dozens of families have fled their homes in the Al-Musaimeer district of Lahj province, southern Yemen, due to intense, indiscriminate shelling by the Houthi group, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization.

According to sources speaking to “Barran Press,” approximately 250 families have been displaced from their homes in the villages of Qareen and Ahamah as a result of relentless shelling targeting populated areas.

The sources confirmed that the Houthis are launching heavy mortar fire on various civilian locations in Qareen and Ahamah, accompanied by extensive drone activity in the skies above.

It was noted that the Houthi strategy, involving both heavy shelling and drone surveillance, aims to intimidate residents and force them to evacuate in order to advance into depopulated areas.

Furthermore, the Houthis have been constructing roads in the mountainous regions overlooking Qareen and Ahamah, establishing new positions for their snipers.

Residents have sought refuge in neighboring areas around the Ahamah isolation, facing dire conditions due to a lack of humanitarian assistance, including food, medical supplies, shelter, and transportation.
