On September 24, 2024, Sultan Al-Arada, member of the Presidential Leadership Council and Governor of Marib, attended the graduation ceremony for the seventh cohort of university students at the Air and Air Defense College. The event was organized by the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff in celebration of the Yemeni Revolution anniversaries: September 26, October 14, and November 30.
The college showcased a military parade featuring the graduates alongside symbolic units from the 34th cohort and graduates from various leadership courses, as reported by the Yemeni News Agency Saba.
The parade highlighted the high level of competence, skill, and professionalism the graduates gained during their training, reflecting their readiness and morale as they prepare to serve in the armed forces.
In his address during the ceremony, Chief of General Staff General Sagheer bin Azeez noted that this year's celebrations are marked by widespread public participation, embodying the national spirit that grows stronger whenever the Houthi group, classified as a terrorist organization internationally, attempts to undermine the significance of this momentous day.
Bin Azeez stated, “Celebrating these great revolutions is a revival of the values instilled by the September and October revolutions—freedom, dignity, equality, justice, independence, unity, and national sovereignty for a greater Yemen.”
He emphasized that the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff is committed to systematically preparing and organizing the armed forces through comprehensive operational and combat training.
The leadership’s primary goal over the years has been to enhance the leadership capabilities of armed forces members at all levels, honing their administrative and field skills to ensure the continued provision of competent personnel for the military.
Bin Azeez reaffirmed their commitment to following the path of the revolutionaries of September 26 and October 14 until victory, security, and stability are achieved throughout Yemen.
In his remarks, Major General Ahmed Al-Bahash, Director of the Air and Air Defense College, stated that the college will continue its educational mission, playing a crucial role in producing and preparing leaders to modernize the armed forces with knowledgeable and skilled personnel ready for combat.
He added that this seventh cohort represents the first fruits of resuming studies at the college in Marib, with 315 graduates completing their military education, combat skills, and parachuting training over the past year.
During the ceremony, Colonel Abdullah Ghelan, Director of the Legal Department, read a decree from President Rashad Al-Alimi promoting the graduates to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the armed forces, followed by the graduates taking their military oath administered by Colonel Judge Mohammed Al-Jaafari.
The event included various performances and poetry recitations emphasizing the Yemeni people's and armed forces' commitment to the principles of the September and October revolutions, vowing to prevent a return to the era of backwardness and colonialism.
Attendees included Deputy Chairman of the Shura Council Abdullah Abu Al-Ghaith, Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism Maamar Al-Eryani, as well as members of the House of Representatives and Shura Council, governors, ministry officials, security leaders, and social figures.
