Our youth national team secured a commanding 3-0 victory against the Maldives in a match held today, Friday, as part of the sixth group of the Asian Youth Championship qualifiers.
The scoring opened with Adel Abbas finding the net in the eighth minute, followed by Anwar Al-Taqri’s second goal in the 35th minute of the first half. Mohammed Muftah capped off the scoring with a goal in the 90th minute of the second half.
With this win, our team now has 6 points from two matches, having previously defeated Timor-Leste 3-1.
This victory brings our youth national team one step closer to qualifying for the upcoming Asian Cup in China. They will face Indonesia in their next and final match on Sunday, a crucial encounter that will determine which team advances directly to the finals.
The top team from each group, along with the five best second-placed teams, will qualify for the tournament.
