The Yemen U-20 football team has successfully qualified for the AFC Asian Cup finals in China in 2025, despite drawing their final match against Indonesia.

According to the official Yemeni news agency Saba, the young Yemeni team played to a 1-1 draw with their Indonesian counterparts at Madiya Stadium in Indonesia during a crucial Group 6 match.

The match was highly competitive, with both teams vying for a qualification spot. Indonesia, benefiting from home advantage, opened the scoring in the 46th minute of first-half stoppage time. However, Yemen quickly responded, with player Abdulrahman Al-Khudher equalizing shortly after.

The second half saw a flurry of attacks from both sides, as Yemen sought a win to secure their place in the tournament, while Indonesia played for a draw, knowing they had an advantage in goal difference. The match ultimately ended in a stalemate.

Yemen's qualification comes as they finished as one of the best second-place teams in the tournament, ending with seven points, just one goal behind group leaders Indonesia.
