On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, the head of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, Ahmed Bin Mubarak, met with the Arab Coalition to discuss coordination and support in the existential battle against the Houthi group, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization.
The meeting took place during his visit to the headquarters of the Joint Forces Command of the Support Coalition for Legitimacy in Yemen, where he was welcomed by Joint Forces Commander Major General Fahd Al-Sulami and other leaders, according to the official Saba News Agency.
During the meeting, Bin Mubarak emphasized the importance of integrating efforts between the government and the coalition forces, particularly in addressing ongoing terrorist attacks on international shipping and commercial vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.
He presented the government's vision for enhancing the performance of the military and security institutions, outlining the necessary reforms to build a strong army based on professional standards and the support needed from the coalition forces.
Later, Bin Mubarak visited the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Riyadh, where he was received by Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, advisor in the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the center, along with several officials.
He expressed admiration for the significant efforts of the center and its crucial role in supporting those in need globally. Bin Mubarak also thanked the Kingdom, both government and people, for the humanitarian and relief assistance provided to Yemen, which helps alleviate suffering in various cities and villages.
In a subsequent meeting with the center's leadership, he discussed the coordination and development of humanitarian work in Yemen, addressing priority needs and the joint efforts between the government and the center to implement planned programs and achieve desired goals efficiently and effectively.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah confirmed the center's commitment to alleviating the suffering of vulnerable, affected, and displaced populations in Yemen. He also detailed the humanitarian projects executed by the center in 102 countries, including Yemen, where 976 projects have been implemented, totaling over $4 billion across various vital sectors.
