On Saturday, October 5, 2024, military sources reported that Yemeni forces successfully thwarted an attack and infiltration attempt by the Houthi group, which is designated as a terrorist organization, at the Al-Abtar front in the Khabb and Al-Shaf district of Al-Jawf province in northern Yemen.

Brigadier General Mansar Al-Ju'aidi, commander of the Border Guard's Haras Al-Hism Brigade, stated that the army managed to prevent a team of mine planters from infiltrating, recovering a military vehicle loaded with explosives and landmines that the Houthi militia intended to plant to target military positions.

He further noted that the Houthi elements fled the scene, emphasizing that this successful defense reflects the vigilance and combat readiness of the army to thwart the Houthi group's "destructive" plans.

According to human rights reports, Al-Jawf province is among the most affected areas by landmines planted by the Houthi group, experiencing frequent incidents that result in civilian casualties, including women, children, and the elderly.
