The Yemeni Ministry of Higher Education and Vocational Training announced on Saturday, October 5, 2024, that it does not recognize post-secondary professional diploma programs issued by government universities.

In a statement published on its official Facebook page, which was reviewed by "Barran Press," the ministry reiterated its decision to suspend these programs at government universities and declared them invalid, labeling the issuance of such diplomas as a violation of educational regulations.

The ministry condemned the continued efforts by some universities to offer these unauthorized programs, describing it as an infringement on the laws governing the educational process and confusion between university disciplines and those of technical institutes and community colleges.

Students were urged not to respond to advertisements for registration in these unrecognized programs to safeguard their future.

Additionally, the ministry confirmed that all medical diploma programs previously offered at the Continuing Education Center at Taiz University are also unrecognized and were suspended two years ago following a recent memo from the Minister of Higher Education to the Chairman of the Medical Council.
