On Sunday, October 6, 2024, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) announced the repatriation of 142 Somali refugees from Yemen to their home country through its voluntary return program.
In a statement shared on the platform X seen by Barran Press, the UNHCR office in Yemen reported that 31 refugees from Sana'a successfully arrived in Berbera, Somalia.
The UNHCR, along with its partners, is committed to ensuring that refugees choose to return to their homeland and is assisting them in obtaining medical clearances, documentation, and reintegration packages in Somalia.
