On Sunday, October 6, 2024, Tareq Saleh, a member of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, stated that Arab wars against Israel highlight the necessity of national states as the primary protectors of just causes and the interests of their people, regardless of whether they achieve victory or face setbacks.
In a post on platform X, which was reviewed by "Barran Press," Saleh emphasized that “we will not achieve victory for Palestine except as national states and legitimate authorities.”
He criticized any groups claiming to represent the fight for Palestine but lacking a belief in national sovereignty, asserting that such entities lead societies toward division and internal conflict.
Reflecting on the anniversary of the October Arab War, Saleh noted that the Egyptian army did not allow for any breakdown of state authority despite setbacks, subsequently reorganizing its strategy to achieve victories on October 6.
He reiterated the importance of upholding state integrity and rejecting the machinations of Iran's Revolutionary Guard, which he accused of destabilizing Arab nations in capitals such as Beirut and Sana'a.
Notably, on October 6, 1973, Egypt and Syria launched a war against Israeli occupation to reclaim Egypt's Sinai Peninsula and Syria's Golan Heights.
