The Yemeni Journalists' Union condemned the arrest of journalist Mohammed Abdul Wahab Al-Yazidi by security forces in Aden on Thursday, demanding his immediate release.

In a statement obtained by Barran Press, the union reported receiving information from colleagues of Al-Yazidi, a correspondent for Al-Jumhuriya TV, who was detained on Monday. His arrest was allegedly based on complaints made against him by a political and military figure, related to social media posts from over four years ago.

The union noted that this incident reflects ongoing harassment and persecution faced by Al-Yazidi in recent years.

The Yemeni Journalists' Union called on the security authorities in Aden to investigate the incident and expedite Al-Yazidi's release. They reiterated their appeal to the legitimate government to halt the continuous harassment of journalists in Aden and to create a safe environment for media professionals.
