The Yemeni Ministry of Civil Service and Insurance, part of the internationally recognized government, announced on Thursday that Monday, October 14, will be an official holiday in celebration of the 61st anniversary of the 14 October Revolution.
In a statement published by the Yemeni News Agency Saba, the ministry noted that the holiday is established in accordance with Law No. (2) of 2000 concerning official holidays and leave.
On this occasion, the Ministries of Civil Service and Information extended their heartfelt congratulations to the political leadership and the Yemeni people, commemorating this significant event in the nation's history.
The 14 October Revolution marked the beginning of armed resistance against British colonial rule in southern Yemen, which lasted nearly 192 years, culminating in the expulsion of the colonizers on November 30, 1967.
