The Yemeni Ministry of Industry and Trade announced on Thursday that there is a sufficient and stable food supply, reassuring citizens that "reliable supplies will cover the entire next year."

This announcement came during a government meeting held at the ministry's headquarters in Aden, the designated temporary capital, chaired by Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak. The meeting included leadership and staff from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, as reported by the Yemeni News Agency Saba.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister emphasized the government's integrated responsibility to address key issues affecting citizens' lives and livelihoods. He highlighted the need to alleviate their suffering through available resources, implement strict anti-corruption measures, and accelerate reforms to maintain economic stability and control the national currency's exchange rate.

He urged all officials to engage closely with citizens' hardships and to make concerted efforts to alleviate existing difficulties.

Bin Mubarak pointed to the Ministry of Industry and Trade's crucial role in enhancing resilience by providing a strategic stockpile of food and medicine, and in activating its regulatory role to control prices. He noted that the ministry is one of the government's key pillars, directly impacting citizens and the private sector.

He also reviewed various developments in economic and financial aspects, discussing the ongoing war with the Houthis from both military and economic perspectives.

The Prime Minister outlined the government's five main priorities: achieving a guaranteed peace, restoring state institutions and ending the coup, enhancing accountability and transparency, combating corruption, advancing financial and administrative reforms, and optimizing economic resource development and external aid utilization.

According to the report, Bin Mubarak praised the ministry's advancements, including the establishment of specialized units in renewable energy, e-commerce, and entrepreneurship to explore new opportunities for youth in promising sectors.

Minister of Industry and Trade Mohammed Al-Ashwal presented the ministry's completed tasks and mentioned the ongoing development of an electronic gateway linked to its branches by the end of this year, as well as initiatives for industrial zones in Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Aden, and Marib.

He also highlighted the strong partnership between the ministry and the private sector in all its commercial and service aspects, emphasizing the ministry's commitment to ensuring supply stability, price regulation, and quality control of goods.
