The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has issued a warning about significant atmospheric instability expected to affect the country in the coming hours.
In its daily bulletin reviewed by Barran Press, the center indicated that weather models and analyzed maps predict partly to mostly cloudy skies in the mountainous regions, with varying intensity thunderstorms expected in several provinces, including Abyan, Lahij, Al-Dhale, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah.
The center also foresees scattered rainfall in parts of Saada, Sana'a, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, Shabwa, and Hadramout.
Coastal areas are expected to experience partly to mostly cloudy conditions with thunderstorms in western coastal regions and scattered rain on the eastern and southern coasts, as well as the Socotra Archipelago. Moderate winds may occasionally intensify along the eastern and southern coasts.
In desert regions, the forecast predicts clear to partly cloudy conditions with sporadic rain accompanied by thunder in parts of Al-Jawf, Marib, and Shabwa, alongside moderate winds that may stir dust and sand.
The National Center for Meteorology has advised citizens in areas expecting rainfall to avoid low-lying areas and riverbeds and to exercise caution during thunderstorms. The public is also warned of reduced visibility on roads and mountain slopes due to rain and fog formation.
