Security Performance Review in Marib: Ministerial Committee Assesses Progress

A ministerial committee from the Ministry of Interior convened on Monday, October 21, 2024, to evaluate the security performance in Marib province, northeastern Yemen. The discussion focused on identifying challenges and obstacles hindering operations and exploring ways to enhance security stability in the region.

Led by Major General Abdulmajid Al-Amari, the committee heard from Marib Police Chief Major General Yahya Humaid, who provided a brief overview of the security agencies' efforts, the level of discipline within service agencies, notable achievements, and the difficulties impacting security operations. The aim is to improve administrative and financial performance while bolstering security and stability.

The committee also met with Colonel Mohammed Majidi, head of the civil registry branch in Marib, to discuss the services offered to citizens, including the issuance of identification documents and other civil paperwork. They reviewed progress on the smart electronic card project and assessed the successes and shortcomings within various branches and centers in the province, as well as their readiness for launching the electronic civil registry.

Additionally, Al-Amari examined the operations of the Civil Defense branch in Marib, discussing performance levels and the challenges faced by Colonel Abdullah Al-Shafloot. He emphasized the ministry's commitment to finding solutions that would enhance performance and provide better services.

Al-Amari reiterated the leadership's dedication to fostering collaborative efforts among the ministry’s sectors and security departments to improve service delivery and strengthen oversight in administrative and financial matters.
