Washington, D.C. — On Monday, October 21, 2024, John Kirby, spokesperson for the National Security Council at the White House, expressed "deep concern" regarding the leak of classified intelligence documents indicating Israeli preparations for a potential military strike on Iran.

Kirby stated, “We are deeply concerned about the leak of confidential documents regarding Israel's readiness to strike Iran, and we do not know how this happened,” as reported by the U.S. news outlet Al-Hurra.

He added that the Department of Defense is investigating the leak and that the U.S. is in communication with Israeli officials regarding the matter.

Additionally, House Speaker Mike Johnson announced on Sunday that an investigation into the leak of documents dated October 15 and 16 would be initiated soon.

The leaked documents are marked "top secret" and indicate they are intended solely for the United States and other members of the "Five Eyes" alliance, which includes Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom, according to CNN.
