High Judicial Council in Aden Approves Investigation of Prosecutor and Refers Two Judges for Accountability

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the High Judicial Council approved the investigation of a member of the Public Prosecution based on a request from the Attorney General. Additionally, the council referred two judges to the Accountability Board for disciplinary cases raised by the Judicial Inspection Authority.

The decisions were made during the council's regular meeting, chaired by Judge Mohsen Yahya Talib, in Aden, the country’s temporary capital, according to the official Saba News Agency.

The High Judicial Council also approved the transfer of Judge Abdullah Mohammed Al-Masri to serve as a reserve member of the Appeals Court in Marib Governorate. Judge Yusuf Mohammed Bashbib was appointed as the head of the Shahn Primary Court while retaining his previous position. Meanwhile, Judge Murad Abdul-Qadir Al-Izani was transferred to the General Administration of Prosecutors in the Attorney General's office.

Furthermore, the council referred several appeals submitted to it to a designated committee, urging the committee to expedite their review and report back to the council.
