Wesab Tribes Accuse Houthis of Shielding Killers and Demand Justice

Barran Press

On Wednesday, October 23, 2024, the Wesab tribes from Dhamar Governorate accused the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by many countries, of concealing the killers of one of their members. The tribes have given the group a three-day ultimatum to apprehend the suspects.

This accusation was made during a protest organized by the Wesab tribes in the city of Dhamar, where they called for the arrest of Abdulaziz Mutee', who was killed by Houthi gunmen in the city of Al-Qadi in Ibb Governorate earlier this month.

Local sources indicated that the tribes accused Houthi-controlled Dhamar security forces of negligence in handling the case and of hiding the perpetrators after allegedly aiding their escape from the governorate.

In response, Wesab leaders warned against ignoring Mutay's case and cautioned against any manipulation or continued protection of the criminals involved.

Abdulaziz Mutay was killed on October 1, 2024, in Al-Qadi, Ibb Governorate, and as of now, the perpetrators remain at large.
