The Yemen national U-17 team is on the verge of qualifying for the Asian Cup finals following a hard-fought victory over Kyrgyzstan, winning 3-2 in a match held today as part of the second round of Group 9 in Vietnam.
Despite trailing 2-1, Yemen's talented players, led by top scorers Mohammed Al-Jarash and Karim Hamdi, rallied to secure the crucial win.
With this victory, the team, under the guidance of coach Samer Fadl, now sits at the top of Group 9 with six points. A win or draw against the host nation, Vietnam, on Sunday will guarantee their spot in the Asian finals.
Earlier in the tournament, Yemen dominated Myanmar, delivering an impressive 6-1 victory in their opening match of the U-17 Asian Championship qualifiers at the Vithry Stadium in Vietnam.
