Tropical clouds moving in from East Africa are expected to bring scattered rainfall to Yemen's coastal areas, particularly in Al Hudaydah, over the coming hours.
The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning has forecast heavy rains for the island of Socotra, with rainfall amounts ranging from moderate to heavy expected on Sunday morning and afternoon, marking the last impacts of the current low-pressure system, which is anticipated to dissipate by Sunday evening.
The center's daily bulletin, which was reviewed by Barran Press, noted that mountainous regions will experience partially to mostly cloudy conditions, with varying-intensity thunderstorms expected in parts of the provinces of Lahij, Al Dhale'e, Taiz, Ibb, Raymah, Al Mahwit, Hajjah, and Saada.
Additionally, scattered rain is possible in areas of Amran, Sanaa, and Dhamar, extending eastward to include the highlands of Abyan and Shabwa. Fog or mist may form during the night and early morning hours in the mountainous regions.
Coastal areas are likely to see partially to mostly cloudy skies with varying intensity thunderstorms across parts of the Tihamah plain and western coasts, along with scattered rains on the eastern and southern coasts, the Socotra Archipelago, and moderate winds that may occasionally stir up dust.
The center also predicts clear to partly cloudy weather in desert regions, with a possibility of scattered rain in parts of the deserts of Al Jawf, Hadramout, and Al Mahrah, alongside moderate winds that may occasionally raise dust and sand.
