On Sunday, October 27, 2024, Sultan Al-Arada, a member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, met with Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Saghir Ben Aziz to discuss the outcomes of Ben Aziz's recent visits to Saudi Arabia and the United States, as well as various field visits.

During the meeting, Al-Arada emphasized the importance of leveraging support from allies and friends to strengthen and develop the Yemeni armed forces, enabling them to fulfill their national responsibilities effectively, according to the official Saba News Agency.

He commended the efforts of the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff in institutionalizing the military and continuously training its personnel, despite the challenging circumstances and significant difficulties facing the nation.

In response, Ben Aziz reviewed the discussions he held with Saudi and American officials on numerous issues of mutual interest, particularly enhancing bilateral military and security cooperation.

He highlighted that the talks focused on the necessity of increasing support and training programs for the Yemeni armed forces, positioning them as effective partners in maintaining security and stability in Yemen, securing international shipping routes, and combating terrorism, particularly the threats posed by the Houthi terrorist organization.
