HADRAMOUT, YEMEN — On Monday, October 28, 2024, tribal sources in Hadramout reported that an armed individual was killed in an airstrike, believed to be executed by a U.S. drone, near a checkpoint associated with the Hadramout Tribal Alliance in the Ain Bin Yamin district.

According to sources speaking to "Barran Press," the drone strike targeted a Toyota pickup truck driven by an armed man near the checkpoint in the Al-Qarashim area, close to the junction leading to the Ghayl bin Yamin district.

The sources confirmed that the strike resulted in the man's death, and the vehicle was completely destroyed in the blaze. However, local militia members and residents were unable to identify the individual.

They noted that the drone continued to fly in the area following the strike, although it remained unclear whether it was searching for additional targets.

It is worth mentioning that in late September, Omar bin Hubraish, the head of the Hadramout Tribal Alliance, received communications from the U.S. embassy in Yemen and welcomed a delegation from the European Institute of Peace led by regional advisor "Thanous Petouris" and Middle East program director "Jimmy Pleydell" to discuss efforts supporting the peace process in Yemen.
