On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Aidrous Al-Zubaidi, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and head of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), met with prominent opponent Ahmed Al-Eisi, a political figure and businessman.
According to the STC’s official website, the meeting took place in the UAE capital, where Al-Zubaidi and Al-Eisi discussed recent developments in the national arena, alongside various economic issues and ways to enhance cooperation between the public and private sectors to address the country’s challenging circumstances.
The discussions also covered efforts to strengthen southern national alignment and unify perspectives to improve coordination among various southern national forces in preparation for upcoming challenges.
This meeting marks the first between Al-Zubaidi and Al-Eisi, who has been criticized by the STC media for alleged corruption, particularly related to the oil sector.
Last month, the STC-affiliated Minister of Transport suspended operations of Al-Eisi’s Belqees Airline, along with other companies that had been importing fuel for electricity stations in Aden.
