A formal document released on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, has accused Anis Baharitha, the director of the Yemeni Prime Minister's office, of obstructing an investigation into the disappearance of financial checks from the Prime Minister's office.

Barran Press reviewed a memorandum from Muti' Dhamaj, the Secretary-General of the Prime Minister's office, addressed to Prime Minister Ahmed bin Mubarak. In it, Dhamaj detailed an incident on October 27, during which Baharitha allegedly disrupted a closed meeting focused on investigating the missing checks from the Financial and Administrative Affairs Department.

According to the circulated document, Baharitha entered the meeting while the committee was carrying out its assigned duties, raised his voice, used inappropriate language, and subsequently dissolved the meeting, preventing the continuation of the investigation.

The memorandum noted that Baharitha justified his actions by claiming they were based on instructions from the Prime Minister. The incident reportedly caused chaos within the General Secretariat's building, witnessed by attending employees.

This occurrence has been described as a violation of the regulations governing the operations of the General Secretariat and the Prime Minister's office. Following the disruption, Baharitha allegedly took several employees from the financial department in his vehicle.

In his memorandum, the Secretary-General urged the Prime Minister to investigate the incident and take appropriate measures, which he asserted had created disorder within a state institution and involved an overreach of authority.
