A devastating road accident in Al-Mahra province, eastern Yemen, resulted in the death of 11 individuals and injuries to two others on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, according to the Security Media Center of the Yemeni Ministry of Interior.
The horrific incident occurred on the Shihn-Ramah road, where a collision between a dump truck and a trailer led to fatalities and significant material losses estimated at 10 million Yemeni rials.
Initial reports indicate that the accident was caused when the dump truck entered the lane of the trailer, resulting in a tragic outcome for 13 people, including both deceased and injured. Most of the victims were laborers traveling in the dump truck on their way to work.
The Security Media Center released the names of the deceased, which include:
- Nasar Ahmed Yahya Huddash, 34, from Al-Bayda (Rada).
- Muheeb Al-Sobaihi, 30, from Lahij (Al-Madaribah).
- Mufaddal Abu Hadeed Yaseen, 26, from Al-Bayda (Rada).
- Adeeb Nasser Ahmed Saleh, 27, from Al-Bayda (Rada).
- Hani Hadi Ahmed Al-Hweimel, 33, from Hadramaut (Sayun Tareem).
- Najib Ahmed Qasim Al-Sobaihi, 32, from Lahij (Al-Madaribah).
- Radfan Mas'ad Yahya Huddash, 26, from Al-Bayda (Rada).
- Mohammed Ahmed Ahmed Al-Khawani, 26, from Al-Bayda (Rada).
- Ghassan Ahmed Saleh Mohammed Al-Habirani, 26, from Lahij.
Additionally, two unidentified individuals were reported as casualties, one of whom is a 26-year-old male.
The injured individuals, who are the drivers of the dump truck and trailer, have been identified as:
- Wadah, 42 years old.
- Mukhtar Mohammed Abdullah, 40 years old.
