The Saudi capital is preparing to host a series of Yemeni cultural events as part of the "Global Harmony" initiative, organized by the Saudi Ministry of Media and the General Entertainment Authority. The events are scheduled to take place from November 3 to 6 and will feature a range of cultural and artistic activities.
The festivities will include folkloric performances, a Yemen carnival, and concerts by notable Yemeni artists such as Hussein Mohab, Adnan Al-Aidrous, Suha Al-Masri, Mahyoub, Yahya Enabah, Kamelia Anbar, Salah Al-Mahdi, and Ammar Al-Azaqi.
A Symbol of Brotherhood
Yemeni Minister of Information, Culture, and Tourism, Muammar Al-Eryani, remarked that the event represents more than just a cultural gathering; it symbolizes the deep bond and genuine love between the Yemeni and Saudi peoples, reflecting historical ties that stretch deep into the past.
In a post on social media platform X, seen by Barran Press, Al-Eryani expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its unwavering support of Yemen, stating that the Kingdom is not merely a neighbor but a true brother standing by Yemen in both good times and bad. He thanked the Kingdom's leadership, government, and people for initiatives that strengthen humanitarian and brotherly relations.
Cultural Exchange and Unity
Abdul-Basit Al-Qa’edi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Media, noted that the event will feature diverse activities showcasing the rich Yemeni cultural heritage. He emphasized that these events highlight the cultural commonalities between the two nations, given their intertwined relationships.
Writer Sam Al-Ghabari pointed out that the initiative aims to enhance cultural communication between residents and the Saudi community, aligning with the Kingdom's Vision 2030 goals of promoting social cohesion and celebrating diversity.
Al-Ghabari further explained that the "Global Harmony" initiative will encompass not only cultural and heritage exhibitions but also musical concerts, art displays, and traditional crafts, allowing attendees to experience the authentic beauty of Yemeni life in Riyadh.

Yemeni journalist Abdullah Ismail described the "Global Harmony" initiative as a significant step towards fostering cultural understanding and coexistence among peoples. He highlighted that the initiative will celebrate Yemeni traditions and customs, which are integral to the shared cultural fabric between Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
Ismail concluded by stating that the cultural ties between the two nations reflect deep-rooted connections, from similar customs and traditions to a rich heritage in music, poetry, clothing, and cuisine. He stressed that such events help build bridges of mutual understanding and strengthen the social and historical bonds between the two peoples.
2030 vision
Launched on October 17, the initiative takes place in Al-Suwaidi Park during the Riyadh Season. It seeks to highlight various aspects of expatriate life, including professional, family, social, and recreational activities, along with their contributions to the Saudi economy and success stories. The initiative also celebrates the diverse cultures of residents and their integration with Saudi society, showcasing efforts by both government and private sectors to improve the quality of life in Saudi cities.
The "Global Harmony" initiative provides an opportunity to deepen cultural ties between Saudi Arabia and Yemen, promoting mutual understanding and building social and historical bridges through various events. The cultural connections between the two nations are reflected in their shared customs, traditions, and artistic heritage, including music and poetry.
The initiative targets nine different cultures, representing countries such as India, the Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Bangladesh, and Egypt. It will feature musical performances, traveling shows, family cultural activities, traditional foods, and various handicrafts, encouraging participation from citizens and residents of different nationalities.
