Local sources reported on November 3, 2024, that security forces in Taiz province are investigating the murder of a young woman who was allegedly killed with a poisoned syringe by relatives, including three of her brothers, after she refused to marry her cousin.

The incident, which occurred in the Sabr Al-Mawadem district, has sparked outrage among local residents. The victim, identified as Ru'oa Ahmed, died two days ago from a poisoned injection to her neck.

Taiz police have accused five individuals, including three of the victim's siblings, of committing the crime following her rejection of the marriage proposal from her cousin.

In an official statement published on the Yemeni Ministry of Interior's website, the police announced that they have launched a comprehensive investigation into the case of the 18-year-old who was fatally poisoned.

The police confirmed that the young woman's body had been placed in the hospital morgue while they detained the suspects, whose ages range from 20 to 24 years, including three older brothers of the victim.

Authorities are holding the suspects for questioning to uncover the circumstances, motives, and reasons behind this tragic incident.
