On November 3, 2024, Tareq Saleh, a member of the Yemeni Presidential Leadership Council, asserted that "the rifle of liberation is what will restore the usurped homeland destroyed by the Iranian agenda." He emphasized that the liberation of Al-Hudaydah would be a precursor to the reclamation of Sana'a.
During a broad military-civilian meeting in the city of Al-Khocha, located in Al-Hudaydah province, Saleh stated that "the national objective requires the establishment of a unified army to protect Yemenis and their homeland without discrimination," warning that militias and sectarian gangs do not build a state but rather tear it apart.
According to the official Yemeni News Agency, Saba, Saleh criticized what he referred to as the "Iranian Project of Divided Arenas," claiming Iran's efforts are aimed at fragmenting the Arab landscape to serve its expansionist agenda. He reaffirmed the commitment of national resistance to pursue both developmental and military paths as a national force fighting against Iranian influence in Yemen.
He reiterated that "the liberation of Al-Hudaydah will be the first step towards reclaiming Sana'a," and expressed a willingness for peace that achieves the goal of restoring the state.
Saleh highlighted that a unified national project is essential for restoring the state and defeating the Iran-backed Houthi group, which is internationally classified as a terrorist organization. He called for a collective effort among all forces and factions to agree on the goal of state restoration and the defeat of the coup.
He also acknowledged the significant public support for the joint forces in the western coast, urging everyone to stand behind the fighters defending the nation’s honor across various fronts.
Saleh warned of the threat posed by the Houthi group to Yemen's future, noting that they "invite foreign ambitions to threaten the homeland and destroy its infrastructure." He criticized Iranian-backed groups for failing to support Palestine, claiming they have instead victimized its people.
Regarding development efforts along the western coast, he mentioned the upcoming opening of the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Hospital in Al-Khocha and announced an initiative from the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE concerning energy projects in Al-Hudaydah.
This initiative includes increasing the capacity of solar power stations to 10 megawatts each, up from 5 megawatts, with the projects set to be established in the districts of Hays and Al-Khocha. The project sites will be handed over to executing entities in the coming days.
Furthermore, Saleh called for the formation of a committee to oversee the implementation of the Al-Hudaydah University project and praised local authorities for their developmental efforts and humanitarian response to flood disasters.
