Local sources reported on November 6, 2024, that a tribal conflict in Shabwa governorate in southeastern Yemen has resulted in the death of one man and injuries to another.

The clashes erupted between two families from the Al Muhiqni Bani Ayoub tribe in the Markhah Al Ulya district, leading to the accidental killing of a beekeeper identified as Sadiq Jalal Mohammed Arjush Al Subaihi, a resident of Abyan governorate.

Sources for Barran Press indicated that the fighting also left another individual, Saleh bin Salem Saleh Mansar Al Muhiqni, injured at the hands of the Al Awad Al Muhiqni family in Markhah Al Ulya.

The conflict reportedly stems from longstanding tribal feuds that have persisted for years, and tensions remain high between the two families as of the latest reports.

Shabwa is known for its ongoing tribal disputes, exacerbated by the near-total absence of official authorities and a weakened community role in fostering security and social peace.
