The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning announced on November 7, 2024, that scattered rainfall is expected in western and southern Yemen over the coming hours, with relatively cold weather anticipated in mountainous and desert regions.

In its daily report, which Barran Press reviewed, the center indicated that mountainous areas are likely to experience clear to partly cloudy skies, with relatively cool temperatures at night and early morning in the provinces of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Al-Bayda, and the highlands of Ibb and Al-Dhale.

The report also noted the formation of fog or mist in the mountainous regions of Lahij, Taiz, Ibb, Dhamar, Raymah, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah, which will transition to cloudy conditions during the day, bringing varying degrees of rainfall accompanied by occasional thunder in parts of Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, Al-Hudaydah, Raymah, Ibb, and Taiz. Light to moderate rain is also expected in areas of Al-Dhale, and the highlands of Abyan and Lahij, as well as in the western parts of Dhamar and Sana'a.

Coastal areas are forecasted to have clear to partly cloudy skies with scattered rain on the Socotra Archipelago, eastern Gulf of Aden, parts of the Tihamah plain, and the western coasts, along with moderate to active winds over the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab strait.

The center added that desert regions are expected to have clear to partly cloudy skies, with moderate winds occasionally stirring dust and sand.

The National Center for Meteorology warned against staying in valleys and flood channels during and after rainfall, cautioning drivers about reduced visibility on roads and mountainous slopes due to rain, fog, and low clouds.

It also advised against exposure to cold weather, particularly for children, the elderly, and outdoor workers during the night and early morning, emphasizing the need for necessary precautions against the relatively cool conditions.
