Local sources reported on November 8, 2024, that a child and a young man were killed during armed clashes between two families in the Bayhan district of Shabwa Province in southeastern Yemen.
According to sources speaking to Barran Press, the violence erupted between the Al-Bahri and Al-Dahmer families in the central market of Bayhan al-Ulya. The clashes resulted in the deaths of 12-year-old Abdulilah Bahar Shu'aan and 25-year-old Muhammad Al-Hamis Dahmer.
Sources indicated that Shu'aan was present in the market during the confrontation, which also left several members of the Al-Dahmer family injured. Al-Hamis Dahmer sustained severe injuries that ultimately claimed his life.
Shabwa Province remains a significant area of tribal conflict in Yemen, grappling with cycles of revenge killings amid a near-total absence of official authority and weakened community efforts to establish security and social peace.
