JEDDAH, SAUDI ARABIA- On November 8, 2024, Saudi security forces discovered the body of a Yemeni expatriate, Abdullah Musaad Mohammed Al-Aksar, in Jeddah, approximately 30 days after his abduction.

Sources informed Baran Press that Al-Aksar had been brutally tortured and suffered multiple fatal stab wounds. He was reportedly kidnapped from the store where he worked in Jeddah.

Family members of the victim confirmed to authorities that Al-Aksar, originally from the Jiradha area of Harib in Marib Province, northeastern Yemen, had been missing since his abduction. The family promptly reported his disappearance, prompting an investigation by local law enforcement.

Surveillance footage showed Al-Aksar leaving the store with the shop owner, a Saudi citizen, which led to the owner’s arrest. During initial interrogations, the shop owner confessed to killing Al-Aksar and implicated three of his brothers in the kidnapping, torture, and murder.

The case has raised concerns about the safety of expatriates and the need for stronger protections against violence and crime in the region.
