On November 10, 2024, a source at the Al-Wadi'ah border crossing, which links Yemen and Saudi Arabia, reported significant congestion as Yemeni travelers headed to Saudi Arabia.

The source, who requested anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media, revealed to Barran Press that the heavy traffic is primarily due to the high demand for Umrah visas among Yemenis. Long lines of vehicles are waiting at the Yemeni side of the Al-Wadi'ah crossing.

In contrast, the flow of travelers returning from Saudi Arabia to Yemen is reportedly smooth.

Regarding travel procedures amid the current congestion, the source indicated that the process now takes approximately 36 hours. They advised those wishing to travel to Saudi Arabia to wait until the congestion decreases.

Since the beginning of November, the Al-Wadi'ah crossing has experienced increased traffic as Yemeni travelers seek to perform Umrah or attend events during the Riyadh Season.
