On November 10, 2024, Rashad Al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council, arrived in Riyadh to participate in the joint Arab-Islamic follow-up summit convened to address the ongoing Israeli aggression in Palestine and Lebanon, as well as the current regional developments.
The summit, called by Saudi Arabia, aims to discuss the implications of the continued hostilities and the complexities of the political and security landscape in the region.
In a statement reported by the official Yemeni news agency Saba, Al-Alimi expressed gratitude to the Saudi king and crown prince for their invitation to the summit, which is being held under "highly complex political and security circumstances."
Al-Alimi emphasized Saudi Arabia's pivotal role in fostering Arab and Islamic solidarity and supporting the Palestinian cause, advocating for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The Yemeni delegation at the summit includes Yahya Al-Shu'aibi, Director of the Presidential Office, and Shaye' Al-Zandani, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs.
