On November 10, 2024, Yemen's Foreign Minister Shaya Al-Zindani emphasized the urgent need for a "unified Arab action plan" to mobilize international pressure on Israel to halt its ongoing aggressions in Gaza and Lebanon.

In remarks reported by the Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Al-Zindani expressed hope that the upcoming Arab-Islamic summit would yield a "unified vision" for stopping the hostilities in Palestine and Lebanon. He urged the United Nations Security Council to provide protective guarantees for the Palestinian people.

The minister noted that several Arab and Islamic nations, particularly Saudi Arabia, have made significant efforts since the last summit held in Riyadh to bring an end to the conflict in Gaza and Lebanon.

Al-Zindani highlighted that the summit is taking place after extensive efforts over the past year at the levels of the Arab League and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, alongside initiatives led by the Arab ministerial committee chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, which involved intensive communications with various countries.

He stated that there is a consensus among Arab and Islamic nations on the necessity of ending the ongoing war in Gaza and Lebanon, a consensus that extends beyond the Arab world to include several countries globally seeking to halt the violence.

When asked about the tools and opportunities available for Arab and Islamic countries to stop the current Israeli aggression, Al-Zindani remarked that significant efforts have been made, particularly by Saudi Arabia, which has played a prominent role due to its standing in both the Arab and Islamic spheres, as well as its international influence.

He expressed hope that if the available tools and opportunities are utilized collectively and in alignment with a unified vision, it could lead to positive outcomes in halting the war, despite Israel's ongoing defiance and aggression.

Yemen assumed the rotating presidency of the Arab League during the 102nd session in September, where Al-Zindani stated that the national and historical responsibilities of joint Arab action compel them to make this session a new starting point for addressing emerging crises and overcoming all challenges with genuine Arab determination.

Today, a preparatory meeting at the ministerial level is underway in Riyadh ahead of the extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit, called by Saudi Arabia to discuss the continued Israeli aggression against Palestinian territories and Lebanon, as well as regional developments and coordination among member states.
