On November 11, 2024, Yemen's Minister of Defense, Mohsen Al-Da'eri, emphasized the urgent need to enhance security efforts to apprehend the perpetrator of the recent attack that resulted in the deaths of Saudi coalition officers. The minister made this statement during an extraordinary meeting held in Hadhramaut with the governor, Mabkhout bin Madi, and the security committee.

Al-Da'eri condemned the attack, which occurred on November 8, 2024, as a "treacherous and cowardly act." He stressed that such violence does not reflect the values or ethics of Yemenis, particularly those serving in the armed forces. He expressed gratitude for the significant role played by the Saudi-led coalition in supporting Yemen's legitimate government and contributing to humanitarian and developmental efforts.

The meeting focused on the implications of the attack, which resulted in the deaths of two Saudi officers and injuries to another. Al-Da'eri was briefed on the ongoing investigation and the efforts of military and security units to capture the assailant, identified as soldier Muhammad Saleh Al-Arousi, who fled the scene after the incident.

Attendees at the meeting included various military and security leaders, such as the deputy governor of Hadhramaut for the valleys and deserts, Amer Al-Amri, and commanders of the second and first military regions.

The Yemeni government has mobilized its security forces to locate and apprehend the suspect following this tragic incident.
