"Masam" Reports Removal of 895 Landmines and Unexploded Munitions in Early November

On November 11, 2024, the Saudi project for clearing landmines in Yemen, known as "Masam," announced that its teams removed a total of 895 landmines and unexploded ordnance during the first week of November. The organization stated that these mines were planted by the Houthi militia, which is internationally recognized as a terrorist organization.

According to a statement from Masam, which was obtained by Barran Press, the demined items included two anti-personnel mines, 26 anti-tank mines, 865 unexploded munitions, and two improvised explosive devices.

The total number of landmines cleared by Masam since its inception has now reached 468,962. The project emphasized that these mines were indiscriminately planted across various provinces, aiming to cause further casualties among innocent civilians, including children, women, and the elderly.
