On November 11, 2024, the Taiz Military Axis reported a significant escalation in military activity by the Houthi group, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization, across various fronts in the governorate over the past three days.
In a statement released by the Taiz Military Media Center and obtained by Barran Press, the Houthi escalation has involved offensive operations targeting military positions using various weapons, the establishment of new sites, construction of military fortifications, and the mobilization of troops, arms, and equipment.
The statement indicated that the Houthi activities have been concentrated around the city and in the western rural fronts of the governorate, particularly in the districts of Jabal Habashi and Maqbana, as well as in the region of Al-Kadhah.
On Sunday, the Taiz Military Axis reported violent clashes between the national army and Houthi fighters northeast of the city, following an attempted infiltration by Houthi elements. The army successfully repelled this attempt after several hours of fighting that involved heavy, medium, and light weaponry.
Additionally, the army thwarted another Houthi infiltration attempt on Sunday evening in the Asifira front to the north of the city, although further details were not provided.
