On November 11, 2024, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman urged for an immediate end to the "illegal Israeli occupation" of Palestinian territories, emphasizing the importance of continued collaborative efforts to establish a Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
His remarks were made during the opening of an extraordinary Arab-Islamic summit held in Riyadh. The Crown Prince reiterated Saudi Arabia's condemnation of the "genocide" perpetrated by Israeli forces against the Palestinian people, which he stated has resulted in over 150,000 casualties, including many women and children.
He highlighted that the ongoing Israeli occupation and its violations of the sanctity of Al-Aqsa Mosque undermine efforts to secure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and achieve peace in the region.
Furthermore, bin Salman condemned Israeli military operations targeting Lebanese territory, asserting Saudi Arabia's support for both Palestine and Lebanon. He called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security by immediately halting Israeli aggressions against Palestine and Lebanon and respecting Iran's sovereignty.
The Crown Prince noted that Saudi Arabia has taken significant steps through international cooperation to condemn the unlawful actions of the Israeli occupation and reaffirm the centrality of the Palestinian cause. He mentioned efforts to encourage more countries to recognize the state of Palestine and to organize international meetings supporting Palestinian rights, aligning with UN General Assembly resolutions regarding Palestine's eligibility for full UN membership.
He called for the end of the illegal Israeli occupation while highlighting the recent launch of an international coalition aimed at implementing a two-state solution in partnership with the European Union and Norway, which Saudi Arabia recently hosted. Bin Salman urged other nations to join this coalition to support the establishment of a Palestinian state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital, while also stressing the need to uphold Lebanon's sovereignty over its entire territory.
