On November 13, 2024, two soldiers from the Yemeni army were reported killed during intense clashes with Houthi militants in southern Marib Governorate, northeastern Yemen. The confrontation erupted following an attack by the Iran-backed Houthi group on army positions.

According to a military source who spoke to "Barran Press," the fighting lasted for several hours and involved various types of weaponry. The army was able to repel the assault and push back Houthi forces, although it resulted in casualties on both sides.

The source confirmed that, in addition to the two soldiers killed, several others were injured, and a number of Houthi fighters were also reported dead or wounded. The clashes coincided with an increase in Houthi artillery shelling on army positions in the same areas.

Despite ongoing efforts by the Yemeni army to secure the region, Houthi forces continue to launch attacks and conduct drone strikes against military targets in Marib.
