On November 15, 2024, Arab Parliament President Mohammed Al-Yamahi called on the international community, the United Nations and the Security Council to provide comprehensive political, diplomatic, and international protection for the Palestinian people amid the ongoing Israeli aggression.

In a statement marking the 36th anniversary of the Palestinian Declaration of Independence, Al-Yamahi urged the global community to take effective action to compel Israel to halt the war that has persisted for over a year. He also stressed the importance of supporting Palestinian diplomatic efforts to secure full UN membership and establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Al-Yamahi reiterated the Arab Parliament's unwavering support for the Palestinian people's legitimate struggle to restore their national rights, particularly the establishment of an independent state per international law. He emphasized adherence to the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel has been accused of committing "genocide" in the Gaza Strip, with reports indicating over 147,000 Palestinian casualties, including many women and children, alongside more than 10,000 missing persons. The ongoing conflict has resulted in widespread destruction and famine, contributing to one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
