The Yemen Meteorological Center and Early Warning Authority issued a weather summary on the evening of November 22, 2024, detailing recent weather conditions across various provinces, forecasting scattered rainfall in most regions in the coming hours.
According to the report, which was reviewed by Barran Press, moderate rain fell in several areas of the capital, Sana'a, earlier in the day. The rainfall in Ibb province reached 16.2 mm and was accompanied by thunderstorms.
In Al-Mahwit province, scattered rain also fell, accompanied by thunder in several areas, while light rain was reported in Dhamar and Rima provinces. Taiz province experienced moderate rainfall in the Al-Hawban area.
In the coastal city of Mukalla, light drizzle was observed, with visibility at 5 km. Meanwhile, visibility in Aden was frequently low due to haze, and fog reduced visibility in Hajjah province to 100 meters by dusk, accompanied by thunder.
The Al-Hudaydah province saw widespread cloud coverage throughout the day, with rainfall recorded at 21.3 mm in the Al-Kudain station after sunset and 3.2 mm in the Zubayd district, with continued rain in various areas.
The meteorological center predicts partly cloudy weather turning to cloudy during the day, with scattered rainfall of varying intensity, occasionally accompanied by thunderstorms in the provinces of Lahij, Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale, Rima, Sana'a, Dhamar, Saada, Al-Mahwit, and Hajjah. Reduced visibility is expected on mountainous roads due to fog and rain.
According to the daily bulletin from the center, coastal areas are expected to experience partly to mostly cloudy weather with scattered rain along the coasts of Hadramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, and Lahij, with moderate winds occasionally active on southern coasts and the Bab al-Mandab entrance, reaching speeds of up to 21 knots.
In desert regions, the weather will be mostly clear to partly cloudy, with the formation of cumulonimbus clouds bringing rain in some areas, and moderate winds occasionally stirring up dust and sand, as per the center's bulletin.
